A Project is a workspace where you can keep and organize your data. It is a collaborative “space” that holds repository artifacts such as Requirements, User Stories, Business Process Models, etc. (called Artifact Types) as well as Issue artifacts such as Change Requests, Enhancement Requests, Defects, etc. (called Issues).

To create a new project, click a Project in Repository Explorer, and select the action for creating new project
To create a new project refer to this article –

In TopTeam you can create a hierarchy of projects to organize the lines-of-business, application or product lines for your organization.
A project that appears under another project (child project) is also referred to as a sub-project. As such there is no difference between a Project and a Sub-Project. The child/sub-project does not inherit any property or security attributes from it’s parent.
The entire parent-child project hierarchy can be reorganized at any time.
Each project can be configured to have a subset of record types from the available record types in the repository.
In order for a record type to be available in a project you have to first “include” it in the project.
You can “include” record types into a project from the project editor – Adding/Removing Record Types from TopTeam Projects
Also, if you have “hidden” a record type in a project, it will not be visible in that project. You can “unhide” a previously hidden record type using the project editor.
Managing team members refer to adding/removing Team Members of your projects. You can add/remove the following types of Team Members from a project:
- Authors (Internal Users)
- Collaborators (External Users)
- Viewers (Users having read-only access to TopTeam Repository)
- User Groups (Collection of multiple users sharing same project permissions)

By default TopTeam ensures that only project team members have access to a project and it’s artifacts. However, unless you turn ON project role based security, all team members can perform any add/update/delete operation on project artifacts.
You can turn ON project role based security from the project editor –
CAUTION : When you turn ON role based security, ensure that you also grant roles to project team members, otherwise all team members will be restricted to read-only access to the project artifacts.

Each TopTeam Project can include one or more Record Types that have been defined in the repository.
Record Types are included in Packages (single or multiple Record Types) for which you can add artifacts into the repository.
