Overview

The Import records from ReqIF File Wizard enables you to import records or artifacts from ReqIF compatible files (*.reqif, *.reqifz) into TopTeam repository.

Using this wizard you can import artifacts of:

• Business Requirements
• Functional Requirements
• Business Rules
• Glossary
• All shipping and custom record types

You can also import artifacts of non-artifact record types such as:

• Packages
• Folders
• Text, etc.

This wizard can also help you import descriptions of artifacts in full rich text format containing tables and images.

This article explains how to use Import Records from ReqIF File Wizard for importing artifacts from ReqIF file using TopTeam Web.

TopTeam also supports import of artifacts from the following file formats:

• ReqIF file using TopTeam Desktop App
• Excel spreadsheet (*.xls, *.xlsx)
• Word (*.doc, *.docx)
• Copy-paste from word document (*.doc, *.docx) or any text file
• Business Process from Visio files (*.vsd, *.vsdx)
• Word document using import parser file (XML) – Expert User

Step 1. Click Import ReqIF

You can select a Project, Package, or Folder to import artifacts from a ReqIF file.

Step 2. Import Records from ReqIF file wizard opens

Step 3. Select the ReqIF file from which you want to import records

Step 4. Choose ReqIF files which you want to import

Step 5. Select a ReqIF Specification from which you want to import

You can also select multiple ReqIF Specifications which you want to import.

Step 6. Select or add template of ReqIF Import Scheme for importing artifacts from the ReqIF file

NOTE	You can manage Import Schemes.

Step 7. Preview artifacts being imported with their details and click Import

Step 8. View Import Summary and click Finish

NOTE	Depending on the number and size of artifacts, it may take some time for the import process.

The selected Package/Folder/Group displays with the newly imported artifacts

NOTE	TopTeam supports ReqIF version 1.1 and 1.2
