Creating a Template and an Artifact from it

Repository

Overview

A Template is like a regular artifact that is stored in the _Record Templates_ project. The _Record Templates_ project comes with the shipping data of TopTeam. A Template can be used to create artifacts in other projects for the following:

  • To automatically fill field values as same as that of a Template in the newly created artifact. This proves helpful when you define certain Templates for your company and want to use those values for artifacts in other projects.
  • To automatically load a diagram as same as that of a Template in the newly created diagram artifact.

This article lists the steps to create a Template and create an artifact from the Template.

  • To create an artifact from a Template in other projects, it is mandatory to have artifacts (Templates) of its record type in the _Record Templates_ project. Otherwise, the Template option will not be visible in other projects.
  • You can anytime make changes to the artifact created from a Template.
