How to Make a Project Read-Only

Overview

This article describes the procedure for making a project read-only.

When a project becomes read-only, team members assigned to the project will not have the ability to add, modify, or delete artifacts, comments, or attachments. However, they will retain the ability to create trace links with the existing artifacts in these projects.

  • TopTeam Administrators

Process Overview

  1. Enable Fine-grained security in a project.
  2. Remove all roles assigned to team members.
  3. Remove Project Administrator from the project.

Step 1. Select a project and open Configure Project screen

Step 2. Enable Fine-grained security in project

Step 3. Remove all Roles from all team members

This action will restrict their ability to make changes within the project.

Perform this step for each team member (user or user group).

Step 4. Clear Project Administrator field

Since the Project Administrator field is set to empty, old project administrator will also have read-only access.

After these steps, only users with the “System Administrator” permission will have the ability to modify artifacts in the project
