How to create new User Accounts

Overview

In TopTeam, there are three types of User Accounts:

  • Authors (Internal Users)
  • Collaborators (External Users)
  • Viewers (Users that have read-only access to TopTeam repository)

This article describes the procedure for creating new User Accounts.

Alternatively, you can also create User Accounts using TopTeam Desktop App. For more information, refer to the article Creating User Accounts with TopTeam Desktop App.

Prerequisites

You need Administrator permissions or corresponding permissions to create User Accounts of different types.

Step 1. Go to the Administration section

Step 2. Open Manage User Accounts

Manage User Accounts Screen opens

There are three methods to create new user accounts:

  1. New User WizardUse this wizard when you want to create multiple user accounts.
  2. New Author, Collaborator, or Viewer actionUse this option to create an individual user account.
  3. Import Users from Excel – See How to import User Accounts from Excel.

1. Create Multiple User Accounts using the New User Wizard

This wizard allows you to create user accounts of all three types – Authors, Collaborators, and Viewers. You can also grant user accounts access to projects.

Step 1.1. Open the New User Wizard

Step 1.2. The wizard starts. Click Create Author

Step 1.3. Enter Author User Account Details and click Create

Step 1.4. An Author has been created

Step 1.5. Create Collaborators

Create Collaborators similarly using the procedure as described in Step 1.3.

After creating Collaborators, click Next in the wizard.

Step 1.6. Create Viewers

Create Viewers similarly using the procedure as described in Step 1.3.

After creating Viewers, click Next in the wizard.

Step 1.7. Grant projects access to the new users

Step 1.8. View Action Summary and click Finish

2. Create a Singe User Account

Similarly, you can create a user account for Collaborator and Viewer user account types.
