Overview
A defined Package Structure can be modified easily as required using the Configure Package Structure editor in the Administration section.
You can do the following configurations:
- Create, change or delete parent-child relationships between record types
- Modify hierarchy or traceability rules
Prerequisites
You must be a System Administrator or have Manage Package Structures permissions to configure Package Structures.
Step 1. Open the Administration section
Step 2. Click Configure System Record Types
Step 3. Click Define Package Structures
Step 4. Define Package Structures editor opens, select a Package Structure
NOTE: You cannot edit Package Structures that are system defined.

Step 5. Drag-and-drop record types to define a hierarchy
Step 6. Define Hierarchy Rule or linking rule
Traces Into link is created automatically. However, you can select the desired Link Type.
Step 6.1. Select a Link Type
Step 6.2. If the selected linking rule is not defined between record types, you can define the rule using Configure Record Type Traceability Rules editor

Step 6.3. Click Apply
The selected record type has been added to the Package Structure
Step 7. Change parent-child relationship via drag-and-drop
Step 7.1. You will be asked for defining a Hierarchy Rule each time you add child record type or change the parent record type

Step 8. Modify a defined Hierarchy Rule
You can also select a record type and click Edit Node on the toolbar.
Step 8.1. Select desired Link Type
Step 8.2. Click Apply
Linking rule has been modified
Step 9. Delete a record type node from the hierarchy
Record type has been deleted from the hierarchy
